DAPHNE – BUILDING A SAFETY NET FOR REFUGEE AND MIGRANT WOMEN: GBV Training for Multidisciplinary Teams.

 

Police officers, NGO staff, medical professionals and other social services staff will be brought to­gether to a 4-day GBV capacity building training, in order to strengthen their know­ledge, skills and compassion to better help the GBV survivors and to improve the effective and effi­cient coopera­tion between them. Having identified the existing gap regarding focusing on the child sur­vivor aspect of GBV with this specific target group, whereas the first three days will be handling dif­ferent GBV ele­ments.

The expected outcomes of the GBV Training for Multi-disciplinary teams are as followed:

  1. Increased knowledge regarding GBV and GBV survivors of all ages, including child survivors
  2. More accurate and in depth understanding of formal procedures that are there to be followed.
  3. Awareness about the consistency of the whole and the cohesion of the different actors within the given protection and assistance system that will result to more open and clear communication and effective collaboration among them.
  4. Increased ability to create and sustain a positive attitude and standpoint in order to avoid possible professional burn-out.
  5. Reframing, meaning availability of another, more clear, frame of reference to look to the same sit­uation of GBV survivors from a different point of view.
  6. More trained competencies on how to connect to, identify and approach GBV survivors of all ages.
  7. Concrete skills on how to proceed with the reporting of GBV cases.

Date:

The training will take place between the 30th and the 2nd of February 2018. The training will be the last one of a wider 4-day training package.

Charilaou Trikoupi 5, 10678, Athens, Greece.

Trainers:

Trainers, selected from CRWI DIOTIMA’s core team and external partners, will be delivering the dif­ferent parts of the training day.

Language:

The training will be delivered in Greek.
